The Gulf Coast Paddle Club presents the Beachside Shootout & Paddlefest. The area's first ever "Knockout" sprint race on a 3/4 mile course. Top 5 from each 10 person heat head to the next round until we get to 10 or less left. Then the big sprint finals. Men's and women's divisions. Grand prizes include SUP equipment and great restaurant gift cards. A grand prize will be awarded to the men and women's winners. ALSO, those that did not make the finals compete for the "Best of the Rest" with chances to win additional great SUP prizes...and ONE person from the Best of the Rest races will win the EXACT same prize as the Shootout winners. 2 mile rec race, and 1/2 mile kids races. Plus demos from the area's top SUP companies. AND, a free SUP clinic before and after the races. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Beachside Community Church to help with the build of their new facilities on Racetrack Road in Fort Walton Beach.

Course Info This scenic 5K course is a flat, down and back starting at the Fort Walton Beach Landing and travels along Choctawhatchee Bay. Rrca Course (Road Runners Club of America) Race Packet Pickup Participants who register prior to 13 Jun 14/12:00 Am CST will be able to pick up their race packet at KC's Sandbar and Grill, 190 Miracle Strip Parkway Southeast Fort Walton Bch, FL 32548 on 13 Jun 13 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Race Day Race day registration and packet pick up will begin @ 6:00 a.m. at Ft. Walton Beach Landing. The Arts and Design Society again offers the opportunity for children to participate in creating visual arts in its summer "Kids' Art Camp." Classes begin on Monday with the ancient skills of clay artistry and feature a different medium each day, including drawing, painting, and other media. Each week ends with an art show and reception for the families, during the second half of Friday's class. There are 4 sessions of the camp, organized by age groups.
Session 1: Ages 6 - 8, June 23 - 27, 9:30 - 11:30 am; Session 2: Ages 9 - 13, June 23 - 27, 1:00 - 3:00 pm; Session 3: Ages 6 - 11, July 14 - 18, 9:30 - 11:30 am; Session 4: Ages 6 - 11, July 14 - 18, 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
The cost for each of the week-long sessions is $60 per child ($50 for the children of ADSO members).
Pre-registration is required by Friday, June 20, for June Sessions and by Friday, July 11, for July Sessions.
